Fernando and Gabriela plot to put Don Martin in a home for the elderly.

Fernando tells Norma that soon they will be living as husband and wife. Norma is not passionate about the idea of being with him at all. Juan is determined to get revenge for his sister’s death. Franco doesn’t agree; he says there’s no need for revenge, since Bernado Elizondo is dead. Oscar says they should get information on the family and track them down.

Bernado tells Livia that he lives with his sisters and her daughters.

Gabriela comments to Fernando that Bernado has been acting very strange and distant lately. Fernando says that he will speak to Bernado to perhaps see the source of this distance, knowing very much that his father-in-law is seeing a much younger woman. He vows to himself to take advantage of this opportunity for self-centered purposes.

Fernando pursues Bernado on horseback, and Bernado in his haste to make it to the house, collides with a Jeep being driven by the Elizondo family employee Olegario.
