Mariana Seoane: Telenovela Actress/Actriz Spotlight

By Kat Alina | Oct 30, 2008

Who is Mariana Seoane García? Some know her as the breathtakingly beautiful Mexican actress , who also happened to be the singer who lent her voice to the beautiful title ballad for the telenovela Rebeca entitled “Me Equivoque”. Ironically enough, she also played Rebeca Linares, the heroine of the telenovela!

In any case, Mariana Seoane, who also has Mexican and Argentinean lineage in her ancestry is an actress who’s recognized all over the world among telenovela fans.

She first caught the attention of many a telenovela watcher via her role as the Countess Adriana in Amor Gitano, although she had also made a mark in other telenovelas such as Los Hijos de Nadie, Retrato de Familia, and Tres Mujeres.

She was to artistically eclipse all those roles in the sweeping, and popular 2007  telenovela Tormenta en el Paraiso in which she played Maura Duran. That year, she also appeared in another hit La Fea Mas Bella, the Mexican remake of Betty La Fea.

As previously mentioned, Mariana Seoane is a singer. Unlike many actresses who are also singers, one can see that it’s not pure folly. The woman can really sing, as seen by her vocal prowess in songs in albums like “La niña buena”, and songs like “Aribba, Aribba.”

To most fans however, she will always remain Rebeca, the character she played alongside the actor Mauricio Islas, in the telenovela that was known for its stunning costumes, and historical setting.

Date of Birth: June 16, 2008

Where: Mexico, Paracuaro, Michoacan

Marital Status: Single

Cuidado Con El Angel: The Telenovela

By Kat Alina | Oct 29, 2008

How’s everyone feeling about this telenovela? The plot is sounding a little too much like Marimar, Muneca Brava, even Univision’s last entry Al Diablo Con Los Guapos.

The plot is so familiar: a little street urchin (in this case Marichuy, played as a grown-up by Maite Perroni, the RBD siren) gets physically attacked by a drunk.  She was abandoned to an orphanage by her mother, who thought the child was too fragile to live past toddlerhood, so this physically abusive episode only makes her feel more unwanted and unloved.

Candeleria, a good-hearted woman takes in Marichuy, but Marichuy soon lands in jail because of a petty theft episode. When she’s brought to trial, who should be the judge presiding? The Honorable Patricio Velarde and none other than her own father, but of course she’s never known her own father, and he doesn’t know her true identity.

Juan Miguel San Roman, a public defender, who takes her case, eventually takes her in, but to avoid complications from this arrangement, he sends Marichuy to stay with the judge and his wife. Estefania, a ruthless and beautiful young woman poses as the judge’s and his wife Cecilia’s long lost child, but in reality it’s Marichuy who’s their real daughter. But the judge and his wife aren’t aware of this.

Despite the fact that Juan Miguel San Roman has purposely had Marichuy out of his sight, that doesn’t stop him from loving her. And she, of course, falls in love with him. But a deep dark secret that will emerge about Juan Miguel San Roman will change their lives forever, and will catapult their love to a new dimension.

In addition to Maite Perroni, telenovela stars the legendary Laura Zapata, Rene Strickler, Africa Zavala, and more!

Is William Levy Having an Affair with Maite Perroni

By Kat Alina | Oct 29, 2008

William Levy and Maite Perroni are the stars of Univision’s well-received telenovela Cuidado Con el Angel. Somehow though, that telenovela title is becoming a little ironic. Folks are saying that those kisses that those two share on the set are real because they really are! Could William Levy be hitting it behind closed doors? Wow, that’s a puzzle. William is married to Elizabeth Guiterrez, according to Hissip.com and they have a child together. Maite doesn’t have a boyfriend (that we know of)…

If it’s not one thing with William, it’s another. First there was that whole thing with his effiminate photo shoot and now this.

What do you guys say? Do you think there’s something going on between those two?

El Rostro de Analía: Telemundo’s Next Hit

By Kat Alina | Oct 15, 2008

Telemundo has a hit on its hands with Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso starring the beautiful Carmen Villalobos and the gorgeous Gregorio Pernia and it’s not about to do risk anything to lose momentum, so it’s introducing El Rostro de Analia.

Wow, from the trailer, the telenovela looks awfully good. What I’ve been able to gather from the trailers and press releases is that two women (cousins) who are enemies, one of them having an affair with the other’s husband, get into a car accident. The good woman is saved, and is given a new face by some do-gooder scientists, which turns out to be none other than the very face of the woman who had tried to kill her. And with this new face, she goes back into her circle, and unknown to her enemies, seeks revenge .

The telenovela is the mastermind of Humberto “Kiko” Olivieri, who was one of the writers behind the telenovela Amantes del Desierto (2001), and the creator of Reinas de Corazones (1995). Interestingly enough, this Humberto Olivieri is the same one behind La Venganza (2002) which definitely had a similar plot, in which a daughter and a mother switched “bodies”. Olivieri also has another hit in his tracking record Prisoniera, starring Gabriel Spanic and Gabriel Porras (who also acts in El Rostro de Analía). Heck, El Rostro de Analía sounds very much like a hybrid of El Cuerpo del Deseo and La Venganza.

In addition to the aforementioned Gabriel Porras, the telenovela stars Martin Karpan (El Cuerpo Del Deseo), Elizabeth Gutiérrez (known for her roles in the telenovela hits Amor Comprado, Ovildarte Jamas, Accolorada), Alejandro Chabán (”12 Miles of Bad Road”), Maritza Rodríguez, Elluz Peraza, Gaby Espino. Daniel Lugo, Karla Monroig, Zully Montero,  Flor Núñez, Flavio Caballero also have roles.

By Kat Alina | Sep 25, 2008

Chat Today on Telemundo with Carmencita and Maria-Fernanda

Okay, maybe you’re like me, wondering what you’ll do when Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso ends? Are you going to go on withdrawal? What a telenovela! Besides Pasion de Gavilanes and La Mujer en el Espejo, I can’t really think of a telenovela that has had me so captivated.

The next best thing to watching the show is a chance to speak to the actresses, mainly Carmen Villalobos, who plays Catalina and Maria-Fernanda Yepes. To get more information….

Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso: Episode 68

By Kat Alina | Sep 24, 2008

Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso  Originally aired on September 23, 2008 (Tuesday)

The Beauty Pageant Continues

-The pageant crowd is animated, clapping, some waving hands in support of their favorite contestant. Bonifasio looks uneasy while the other mafioso looks tense, and on the look-out. Bonafasio takes a drink. Marcial smiles Catalina’s way, while Yessica looks tensely towards the stage. The tension is too much for Titi, who resorts to doing neck exercises.

-”Here’s the moment, you’ve all been waiting for,” says the pageant host. Catalina, her hands on her hips, is all smiles. Valentina Roldan, Titi’s girlfriend stands side by side with Catalina, each trying to outdo the other in posing. Standing in a sky blue gown, Valentina is no match for Catalina who looks absolutely radiant in her bright royal blue gown that exposes her “senos” in all their paraiso.

The announcement

-In a matter of seconds, Catalina is announced as the runner-up in the pageant, a tiara is placed on her curls while she stands there stunned and stupefied. Valentina, quickly grasping what this all means, claps her hand over her mouth, as the host announces her name as the winner. Catalina looks absolutely crushed, as the host continues to speak, and assistant comes on the stage and places a gigantic tiara on the head of Catalina’s rival. It continues to dawn on Catalina that she’s just lost the crown to Titi’s girlfriend, as the host rambles on about the prizes the winner will get…a European trip, a necklace, a late-model car.

Marcial and Yessica react

-Marcial and Yessica are stunned. Titi rises from his seat and grabs his jacket. He doesn’t look as celebratory as he should, but maybe because he has a male intuition that’s telling him that all hell is about to break loose.

-Catalina for her part, stands looking quite the statue, except that she’s really agitated, practically fighting back tears over the big blow she’s just been hit with (oh good lord, to have Titi’s girlfriend win the pageant! The ultimate slap in the face!).

“Here she is,” says the host, introducing Valentina to the crowd, “representing Valle.” Valentina sashays on the stage to showcase her queendom status.

At the barrio

-Meanwhile in the barrio, everyone is in a state of stunned silence, as they watch a closeup of Catalina’s teary-eyed face on the flat TV screen. Bayron runs his hand on his face, not believing his ears, no doubt! He cups his mouth in a gesture of disbelief. Ximena looks disappointed that Catalina didn’t win. Albeiro has his left hand over his mouth as his eyes stand fixated on the screen. Ximena pulls Hilda close to her in a hug. Whatever jealousy Hilda may have felt seems to have melted away, as it sinks in that the daughter has lost the pageant crown. Vanessa and Paola giggle to themselves, but then Paola puts on a grave faces for the other onlookers. Even the El Nombre Obscuro’s little pitbull looks crushed, as does Le Liebre in his wheelchair. Le Liebre actually gives the pageant results a dismissing hand.

-Ximena has her arms wrapped around Bayron who points menacingly at the screen.

- As Catalina stands on the stage, in her mind she pictures all the beautification she had mentally planned for the barrior…being lost in rewind. She also thinks of the verbal showdowns she had with Valentina Roldan (Miss Valle!) when she had called her a maid who swears she’s a queen. Catalina also remembers the scuffle she had with her in the dressing room and also recalls another time when she and Valentina had gotten into an argument when Valentina had referred to Catalina as a dummy.

-Back at the pageant…Marcial gets up suddendly from his chair. “They robbed me, Yessica,” he yells, pointing at the panel of judges. Yessica tries to calm him down, to no avail. He pulls out a gun. The pageant audience let out screams. Some people duck, others hit the floor (and that’s before Marcial does anything!). Marcial shoots in the air. Catalina is startled. As Marcial continues to shoot (at no one in particular, just in the air!), the other mafioso starts shooting in the air as well. My what sore losers!

-Catalina makes sure that her crown is steady on her head, then gathers up her gown, and makes a run for it! Marcial and the other mafioso take turns shooting in the air. More screams from the crowd, or shall I say, the very little people left in the room, who  haven’t yet ran for cover! The lights have gone out, by now (or rather, they’ve been shot out).

At the Barrio, Where Catalina’s fans wait…

-The shooting will be televised. In the barrio, where all of the neighborhood folks have gathered, Lina and Nathalia watch horrified, as they see the whlole scene developing before them on the flat tv screen. Bayron shakes his head in disbelief while Ximena wonders where Catalina is. Balin and Keto watch captivated; even Paola and Vanessa look scared for Catalina. El Hombre Obscuro watches calmly, almost with some degree of interest, his knuckles curbed, and fingers on his lips. Bayron’s hand flies to his forehead; He and Ximena try to calm down Dona Hilda, who seems to be one most affected by all of this. Le Liebre points two fingers as if a gun to his neck, while Lina and Natalia continue to stare in disbelief and Bayron and Ximena try to assure Hilda that Catalina is okay. Hilda tells the group that she hopes Catalina is okay.

Catalina Post-Pageant

-Back at the hotel, Catalina is in tears, despite the fact that Yessica is doing her utmost to comfort her. Yessica comforts her with the thought that there will be other opportunities, but Catalina stubbornly won’t hear of it. “Don’t you see, they robbed me of my crown?” Marcial walks in to find Catalina crying her eyes out. He wants to know what’s wrong with his little baby. He makes her all sorts of promises of gifts, but they all don’t seem to match the grandeur of the crown.  Catalina is inconsolable.

-Pelambre rushes in the room and addresses Marcial. He tells Marcial that the police are on their way to the hotel venue and that they have to leave the premises immediately.

Hotel Exit

-Pelambre doesn’t have to say this twice! Seconds later, Catalina and Marcial are rushing down the steps of the hotel, trailed by Pelambre, who’s held steady by Pelambre as she goes down the stairs in her stiletto heels.

-Not far behind is Titi, dressed in his black suit, precipitating down the same stairs with Valentina Roldan. Titi tells her he killed the pageant head for being a snitch.

The Aftermath

At Hilda’s house, Albeiro and Hilda discuss Catalina’s loss. Albeiro points out that Catalina’s responses to the judge’s questions were not up to par. Hilda agrees. Albeiro speculates that her heart can now be at rest. Hilda, showing her insecurity, tells Albeiro that she doesn’t know what she would have done if Catalina had won the pageant.

Bayron tells his mother that he’s going to go run an errand. He cuts her off when she tries to get specifics as to where he’s going exactly. Bayron is long gone, when Dona Hilda realizes that she didn’t give him her usual blessing.

In the street

While Bayron is waiting for Balin and Keka to show up, Christina comes up to him and asks him to come speak with her father. But he says he can’t do that just now; he’s going on an errand and will be away for some time. He tells her to take care of the baby. This latter part, Balin and Keka hear and smile devilishly at Bayron. Christina leaves the scene. Balin asks Bayron if he has gotten his mother’s blessings for their upcoming hit, but he seems as though he could care less whether he’s gotten it or not.

Return to Marcial’s Mansion

-At the breakfast table the next day, by the poolside, in Yessica’s presence, Marcial swears to Catalina he had nothing to do with the murder that took place back at the hotel. He tells Yessica and Catalina that Titi was the one who undoubtedly had the man killed.

-As they are having breakfast,  Pelambro walks in with a yellow envelope. It contains a refund of Marcial’s $40,000 bribe to Bonafasio. Marcial stomps on the accompanying notecard and curses Bonifasio. He hands over the $40,000 check to Catalina, adn tells her to keep it for herself. She’s so delighted, she starts shrieking. What a contrast to Yessica, whose face is green with jealousy and resentment. Catalina doesn’t even thank Marcial, but he’s so happy that he’s made her happy. He walks off content, leaving Yessica silently sulking, and Catalina too absorbed in her newfound happiness to take note. Yessica asks Catalina what she’s planning on doing with the money, and Catalina states that she’s going to be putting it towards a business venture for Bayron and Albeiro. Yessica does not, does not, look happy at all. She takes a slice of watermelon from her plate. That poor watermelon got stabbed with that fork pretty hard!

Back in the Barrio

-Catalina and Yessica arrive on the doorstep of the Santana house. Catalina knocks repeatedly but there’s no answer. Yessica doesn’t look pleased at alll, and it has nothing to do with the fact that there’s no answer at the door. The problem is more centered on Yessica’s apparently growing resentment of Catalina. Yessica tells Catalina that she’s going home and that they’ll see each other later. Catalina nonchalantly tells Yessica, “Okay”, not realizing the mass disenchantment of her little amiga.

Dona Hilda’s Room

Dona Hilda and Albeiro are chillaxing on her bed in Hilda’s bedroom. Suddendly, it dawns on them that it’s Catalina who’s standing outside, and they start scrambling like two egg whites on heat. Hilda finally opens the door, but doesn’t invite Catalina inside. Outside on the sidewalk, Hilda tells Catalina that Albeiro is inside, and that he’s not visiting, but is staying at the house. “What do you mean he’s leaving here?” asks Catalina , more than puzzled. Hilda tells her that Albeiro had a fight with his mother, and so he’s staying with her. She barges inside the house, with Hilda not making any move to stop her. Could it be that Hilda wants her daughter to find out that she’s been sleeping and cohabitating with her own daughter’s boyfriend?

Catalina goes inside the house and finds Albeiro inside her room. She pulls the sheet over him. Hilda walks in the room, and watches. Catalina doesn’t suspect a thing.

Paola and Vanessa learn that Yessica is in town. They are very apprehensive about having Yessica see them like “this”—as in, sporting normal clothes like normal girls. Of course, they want Yessica to have the impression that they can live a life without her, be successful in the “business” in all, still wearing flashy clothes, and having a grand old time. They agree that they ought to fix themselves up a little bit before showing their faces. They agree to go get Ximena, but just as they are about to do this, they spot Catalina! They hide behind a tree to avoid being seen.

As she stares at Pelambre in the driver’s seat, Dona Hilda suddenly gets a flashback about the day Pelambre had visited the house, and had relayed a message to Dona Hilda to deliver to Catalina.

As Catalina is being driven away in Marcial’s SUV, Hilda and Albeiro stare at each other, full of guilt.

Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso–Carmen Villalobos (Catalina Santana)

By Kat Alina | Sep 23, 2008

Is it me or is Carmen Villalobos the best young actress to come out of Columbia since Paola Rey (La Mujer en el Espejo, Pasion de Gavilanes, La Baby Sister)?

It’s such a joy to watch her play Catalina Santana on Telemundo’s Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso. The character may be exasperating at times, naively stupid at others, but Ms. Villalobos is so darn charming. After Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso concludes, you can be sure that her telenovela asking price will go up a notch or two! The impact of the telenovela is undeniable, and her presence as an actress. I don’t care how many other versions are in progress.

Some fans may remember her from La Tormenta in her minor role as the blind sister Beatriz. La Tormenta was not exactly my cup of tea.

I had watched a few episodes, before I yawned, and said goodbye to Telemundo for the time being. I don’t remember Carmen Villalobos having much of a presence then, but then again, as I’ve just admited, I didn’t really think much of La Tormenta. Natalia Streignard’s little comeback telenovela after I had seen enough of her in Anita No Te Rajes to last me an entire lifetime.

Hilda notes how Bayron is nowhere to be seen (she looks left and right in the street). Albeiro tells her that he’s not trying to make her worry, but that earlier he saw Bayron and these two other guys running in the street.

Meanwhile, Balin gives Bayron a few pointers on how to kill. They go off on Balin’s motorcycle, with Balin at the helm and Bayron sitting behind him. They actually are crazy enough to practice on this man (but without a gun, just with Bayron pointing). As they (Bayron and Balin) get away, they laugh hysterically as they drive off on Balin’s motorcycle.

Meanwhile, at the affluent  villa where Martinez the Mexican is staying, Martinez warns his men Orlando, Caballo and Jorge that there are a few girls that will be coming to the villa. Under no circumstances, he warns, should they tell the girls that the villa is rented. And, he adds, the girls must think that he is a bigshot, a big-time drug dealer, in fac the head of the cartel in Mexico. He adds that if they (his men) should see a girl of their liking, they can take her.

The girls arrive and Yessica introduces Vanessa and Paola and finally Catalina. The girls go inside followed by Martinez’s men. However, Caballo, Orlando and Jorge (Martinez’s men) remain at the entrance of the villa. When Yessica informs Martinez that Catalina is the smallest of the three girls, he’s visibly disappointed, saying that she’s flat, not like the other girls whose figures are more buxom.

Martinez tells Yessica that he’ll entertain himself with the other two nad if later he feels like it he’ll call Catalina to join him. Yessica shakes his hand in agreement, and they march inside.

Albeiro tells Hilda (who’s ironing) that he feels sorry for Catalina who has to put up with studying biology, because he remembers what it was like when he was in school. Hilda contends that it’s for the best. Bayron comes in and Hilda announces that she’s cooked rice and beans. He goes into his room and hides his gun underneath his mattress.

Observing  Martinez talking to Yessica near the pool, Vanessa tells Catalina that maybe she should wait for another opportunity, since this Martinez fellow looks crude and crass. Catalina answers that she’ll close her eyes if she has to. Vanessa warns her that sex with Martinez will be painful.  Catalina replies that she’s ready to suffer. It’s now or never, she tells Vanessa; an opportunity like this will never come up again. Somewhat taken aback, Vanessa asks if she doesn’t mind sleeping with a beast like Martinez. Catalina resigns herself; she says it doesn’t matter as long as he gives her the money that she needs for her breast operation. All that matters is that she’ll get out of there today with the $5,000.00 dollars for her breast surgery.

Martinez is taken aback when Yessica tells him that the price to sleep with Catalina is $5,000.00. He balks at the idea, saying that much money, he can get a more full-figured woman from Mexico. But Yessica reminds him that Catalina is a virgin and is worth it, and besides Mexico is miles away. He offers $3,000.00. Yessica decides to try another tactic. She tells him, “I thought you wanted to be like one of the big-time drug dealers like Titi and Cardena. Martinez’s ego is actually affected and he vehemently tells Yessica to watch he rmouth because Titi, he claims, is no better than him. Yessica tells him he ought to be as generious—like the other big ballers. Yessica also tells him that Catalina wants to get her breasts augmentated, and he replies tartly that that’s her problem not his. He turns his attention to Vanessa , Paola, and Catalina, who are now wearing and sashaying in their bikinis. He marvels at their youthful nad slithe bodies.

At the lunch talbe, Hilda asks Bayron where he got the cell phone (she suddendly realized, he has a cell phone in hand). Instead of answering his mother’s question, Bayron just gets up from the able. Hilda laments to Albeiro (who’s also at the table) that Bayron  got a job cleaning at a library, instead of continuing with his schooling.  Albeiro tells Hilda that he hopes that, this is really the case. Albeiro further informs Hilda, that although he (Albeiro) doesn’t want to worry her, he would advise her to keep an yee on Baryon so she doesn’t end up losing him. He tells her that he’s worried about Catalina’s associations.

Later, Bayron heads outside, and tells his mother he’s going to study. He clims his new motorcycle, puts on his helmet and drives away.

At the rented villa where Martinez is staying, Catalina is in tears because Martinez chose Paola. Catalina cries, wondering what right an ugly man like Martinez has to be so picky. Yessica tells her that some of these men may be fat, ugly or whatever, but they’re the ones who make it possible for them to eat. Catalina says it’s best thaht she goes home—none of the men like her, preferring voluptuous women. Yessica deters her. She tells her that when Martinez comes out, things may change.

Hida fixes Catalina’s bed for Albeiro and asks if the latter would like to borrow a pair of Bayron’s pajamas. He tells her he sleeps in his underwear and for a few seconds, they stare at each other.

At the mansion/villa, Martinez finally comes outside with Paola and chooses Vanessa for the next session of his orgy. Yessica is disappointed, so is Catalina, who in addition to being disappointed, is very angry. Yessica tries to interest Martinez in Catalina, but he refuses to be convinced, telling Yessica to go operate on Catalina herself. Yessica tries to comfort Catalina as Martinez walks off jovially with Vanessa, but Catalina is so angry that she doesn’t even allow Yessica to put in a sentence.

“What are you going to tell me,” she tells Yessica, “that the world world hasn’t fallen down on me, because that’s excatly what’s happened .” Catalina asks to be left alone, then asks to be taken home. Yessica tells Catalina that they can’t just leave Vanessa and Paola there. Catalina starts to walks off, and tells Yessica that she’s going home by herself, but Yessica sternly tells her to stay put and promises to come right back. Catalina, calmed for the time being, sits near the pool, but still looks crushed and Orlando and Caballo who are watching her from the other side of the pool, speculate amongst themselves that Cat is crying because their boss didn’t choose her.  Orlando observes that Catalina is a gorgeous girl. They both stare at her lecherously, obviously with no fahterly intentions.

Meanwhile, at Hilda’s house, Albeiro gets up from Catalina’s bed, and goes towards the door as if he were about to march outside, and crawl into Hilda’s room. But he just stands there. Could this mean that his manly genes and male testoterone are being agitated by Dona Hilda’s voluptuousness?

Caballo, one of Martinez’s men, approache, and sits next to Catalina and introduces himself. “They call me—“, he begins, then trails off. “Never mind,” he says, “people call me Caballo.” Catalina snaps that she didn’t ask for an introduction, and gets up angrily. She tells him not to pester her. Caballo tells her he only wants to help her. She tearfully tells him that if he really wants to help her to give her $5,000.00. She lays out her palms, as if expecting the $5,000.00 to land on them. He asks he if she’s serious about her request. She assures him that yes and tells him that from the looks of him, she knows tha the doesn’t have that kind of money. He tells her things aren’t the way they seem (how ironic!).

Caballo tells her despite appearance, he’s a big time drug dealer. She sniffles. Why do you need this money, if I may ask, he inquires of her.  She looks at her chest and looks at back at him. “Ah, you want to get operated on,” he says. “Yes,” she replies a bit snappy. She continues: “And don’t ask me any more questions because you can’t help me.”

“And why do you feel that I can’t give you those $5,000.00 dollars. Ctalina notes that he’s not a big timer; he’s just a measly bodyguard. She walks past him, her little pink canvas purse in hadn and stands at the edge of the pool. He looks flustered. He tries anew to convince her. He turns and faces her.  Het asks her, “Who do you think handles the big transactions? Us!” She rpelies that even if he has money he’s not going to be handing it over to a complete stranger. It depends, he replies. He tells her it’s possible and mimes giving her money. It all depends on the stranger who asks for it, he replies; it’s just a matter of reaching in my pockets and handing it over, he says. Catalina laughs, and says she doesn’t beliveve it. “Why don’t you believe me,” Caballo asks. She tells him to go away and let her alone. “But what if I tell you I will give you the $5,000.00,” he asks. Catalina stares at him.

EPISODE 2

In her room (after Albeiro has told her that she’d be the queen of the neighborhood, if only she had breasts), Catalina is in tears, remembering Albeiro’s stinging words. Hilda tells her to come eat, but from her room, she tells her mother she’s not hungry. Bayron and Hilda eat alone.

The next day, Hilda and Yessica are standing outside Catalina’s room. Hilda knocks, but Catalina doesn’t answer. She’s just too plain brokenhearted. Hilda confides to Yessica that Catalina and Alberio had an argument the night before and that Cat has been crying in her room since then. Catalina has also refused to eat. Yessica decides that she’ll try to reach out to her friend. And seeing that Hilda has her eyes fixated on her (Yessica), Yessica chooses her words carefully, saying that Martinez has arrived. Catalina, who  had at first refused to open the door, is now fully animated and hopeful. She gets out of bed and goes to her dresser and wipes out her eyes.

Yessica explains to Hilda that Martinez is a “biology teacher” who’s come to explain a complicated class assignment to them. Hilda wonders curiously why this man would travel all the way to Mexico. Being the sneaky liar that she is, Yessica already has a lie prepared. She tells Hilda that since Mr. Martinez is so competent, school authorities have him travel to different national schools to teach his methods. Funny how this girl can fabricate a lie so fast!

Yessica tells Catalina, who’s now out and about, that she should dress up and Hilda asks if Catalina was not planning on asking her permission to go out. Catalina asks Hilda about going out, and Hilda gives her consent. Out of Hilda’s hearing, the girls jump up and down. Yessica tells Catalina that this opportunity with Martinez is an opportunity of a life time.

Once they are out of the house and walking outside, Yessica tells Catalina that the meeting with Martinez will be that night, not this very minute. Catalina worries that she won’t be able to get away from her house and Yessica tells her that if she really wants to get the money from Martinez (for her breast augmentation) operation, she had better be prepared to make up a story to tell her mother, after all, Yessica emphasizes, another opportunity like this will not rise again—to give up her virginity in exchange for the money for her breast implants.

Catalina affirms that although she’s a little scared, she doesn’t care what story she’ll  have to make-up; she has to make her dream of having big breasts come true. Both she and Yessica laugh at this frankness.

Later, Albeiro knocks at the fornt door, a teddy bear in hand. He walks away when no one answers, but he just knocked once. Hilda finally opens the door, and sees him walking away, she follows him onto the sidewalk. Hilda informs Albeiro that Catalina is at school, but tells him he can wait inside the house for her. As  she walks away, to go back inside her house, he has his eyes fixated on her (on her butt to be more exact). She’s wearing a sensuous, sheer dress and her panty line can be clearly seen through the dress. She stops and looks over her shoulder as if she can feel his gaze. He looks away and they stare at each other. He follows her inside, his eyes still on her. He asks to use the bathroom. Once inside the actual bathroom, his eyes fall on a pair of white underwear that’s been laid to dry. You know it’s not a pair of Catalina’s underwear, but Hilda’s! He picks up the pair of underwear and stares at it, with all the fascination of an archeologist starring at a fossil.

SIN SENOS NO HAY PARAISO—THE SONG (LETRAS)

Because I have gotten so many requests from you, here are the lyrics to the song

Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso—The LyricsQuiero decirte que me gusta como eres
Pura belleza natural
Tu cara, tu cuerpo, tu dulce ternura
No necesitas nada mas

Kat’s translation:

I wanted to tell you that I love you as you are

In your state of natural and pure beauty

You face, your body, your all-natural self

You don’t need nothing moreYo solo quiero ponermelas bien buenas
Para asi salir de este lugar
Yo solo quiero que usted me de un poco de dinero
Y volverme una actriz de verdad

Kat’s translation

I want to show impress them all

And get the hell out of here

I Just need a little bit of money from you

And vamp myself into a real actressAy, mira como tus ojos brillan
Que mi amor suspira
Y daria lo que fuera por poderte amar
Mira, no huyas
No lo hagas

Look how your eyes are glistening

My love is practically sighing

Please don’t get away

(Please) don’t do itYo solo quiero ponermelas bien buenas
Para asi salir de este lugar
Yo solo quiero que usted me de un poco de dinero
Y volverme una actriz de verdad

Sin ellas no hay paraiso… de verdad!

I want to show them all

Want to get out of this place

I just need a little bit of money from you

To transform myself into a real actress

Without them, there’s no true paradise
