Pasion de Gavilanes Capitulo 1/Episode 1

By Kat Alina | Jan 13, 2010

Pasion de Gavilanes is one of my absolute favorite telenovelas. But I know that I’m not alone in loving the telenovela.

I’ve decided that I am going to write down the summaries for the episodes. Let’s see if I can finish the job, one by one.

Pasion de Gavilanes Capitulo 1:

At a deserted road, a young woman no more than seventeen meets her much older lover, who arrives in a big Jeep. The young woman’s name is Livia. Liva Reyes. The man? Bernado Elizondo. The man is a bearded fellow, one would say old enough to be her father.

Meanwhile Oscar Reyes is complaining to his younger brother Franco Reyes about Livia. Livia, he says, has a lover, and he’s seen them with his own two eyes.

Franco is incredulous, and is pretty nonchalant about Oscar’s news.

When Livia comes home, she has a lot waiting for her. Oscar asks why she hadn’t told them. Juan asks her if she’s slept with Bernado, and he slaps her when she answers yes. Franco and Oscar prevent Juan from doing any more damage. Franco, the most compassionate one, declares that he’s not going to allow Juan to beat Livia.

Juan angrily asks Livia for details about her lover, and Livia vows not to give them any more details, and storms out of the house.

Later Franco goes to a bar, to watch Rosario Montes, a sensual and beautiful singer. Franco is awed by the acclaim she gets from the bar’s regulars. After her performance, Franco follows her to her dressing room. Franco says that he wanted to come to personally thank her, and expresses his admiration for her. Rosario orders him out. Franco promises to return, because he says, he will never

Rosario’s friend Emilia tells her that Franco is very handsome. Rosario tells her that Franco comes to see her perform a lot and that she thinks he’s very handsome. Emilia then asks why did she throw him out if she thinks so. She says that she can’t waste her time with someone like him, who doesn’t much to offer her materially.

Franco walks home and sees Livia smiling at him from the window of their humble house. Back in the house, Franco asks his sister Livia if she loves him. Livia sweetly answers that she loves him indeed, as much as she loves her other brothers, Oscar and Juan–even though they don’t understand her much. Franco tells her that he and his brothers would like to know her lover, and speak to him to see if he’s a good man.

The next time Livia and Bernado meet, Bernado notes that she’s acting differently towards him. They drive to their usual meeting place, and Livia is reluctant to go in, and Bernado wonders what’s wrong. When he enters the house, he finds Livia’s three brothers Franco, Juan and Oscar. Livia confesses that her brothers found out about them, and wanted to know him. Oscar exclaims that Bernado is old enough to be her father. Juan accuses Bernado of taking advantage of Livia’s youth for selfish purposes.

Bernado says that if he was a bad person, Livia wouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Bernado declares that he’s sincerely in love with Livia, and would be ready to marry her, not out of obligation, but because he truly loves her.

Juan punches Bernado and Bernado falls on the hay, and Livia holds him. As his brothers hold him back from hitting Bernado again, Juan says he doesn’t trust Bernado.

Later Franco asks Livia if she really is in love with this man, after all he’s much older than her. Livia insists that she’s in love with him and that she needs him.

Juan asks Livia to leave Bernado, and that they will soon after leave town. Oscar disagrees, and the idea of benefiting from Bernado’s wealth is too tantalizing for him. Livia says that his wealth doesn’t interest her, although he has told her that he has a lot of companies.

Juan says that Bernado belongs to that sort of elite class that was responsible for running them out of their property.

Oscar says that this is the opportunity they have all been waiting for to come out of their misery. Franco is on Bernado and Livia’s side, but not because he shares Oscar’s views, but because he has that type of personality.

Argument between Gabriela and Bernado.
